Dr. Wade (or Jesse as he likes to be called) found that when he had to give service in the military, there was a larger world beyond what he knew and understood. From that service came his desire to help his fellow veterans and others which led him to pursue a career as a psychologist. He has lived in the Northern California Redwoods, on the Southern California Beaches, and in the foreign lands of Arkansas, Germany, Iraq, and beyond. All his experiences throughout the world have helped him to understand that life is challenging and most people only learn from the school of “hard knocks.” But it does not have to be that way!

Someone has already been through what you are going through and there is not a single subject that hasn’t been written about or discussed in depth. Learning how to engage in positive change, empowering awareness and healthy growth is possible! What Jesse offers is a therapeutic approach that is dynamic - there is no “laying on the couch.” Instead, you might take a walk, practice stress management, but most likely you’ll just talk. Real, genuine, from the heart. It won’t be “…and how did that make you feel?” If life is dynamic, shouldn’t therapy be an experience that reflects that? The therapy Jesse offers is meant to provide support, encouragement, and to help you figure out your truth so you can move toward your goals - whatever they may be.

Jesse grew up spending his time between Northern and Southern California.  He was raised in Humboldt County, graduated high school in Southern California in 1997, and received his undergraduate degree from Humboldt State University in 2003.

In 2004, he enlisted in the US Air Force and was a Loadmaster on the C-130 cargo airplane.  He was assigned to Germany at Ramstein Airbase from 2005 to 2008, and also deployed to Iraq several times within that period.

Upon separating from the military Jesse lived in the San Luis Obispo area, and while there read two books that would firmly set him on the course to becoming a therapist: Man’s Search For Meaning by Viktor Frankl and Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky.  In 2012, he began his graduate work in San Francisco at the California School of Professional Psychology.  From the start he focused on veterans, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and learning and teaching common sense interventions designed to resolve distress, empower his clients, and promote mental health.

Jesse received his Doctorate in Psychology in 2016 and his California Clinical Psychologist license in 2019 (Cal PSY# 309080).  From 2016 to 2019, he worked for the San Francisco Vet Center (a branch of the Department of Veterans Affairs within the Veterans Health Care Administration) in San Francisco and San Rafael.  In 2020, he transferred to the Citrus Heights Vet Center and made Sacramento his home.  In October 2021, he began working as a Disability Assessment Evaluator and in 2022, opened a private therapy practice.
